Anne-Marie Ellis is a Solicitor and Founder of Anne-Marie Ellis Property Matters, an independent advisory company that helps private clients achieve the best possible outcomes in their property transactions and projects by providing them with bespoke, holistic legal and practical advice and solutions.
As a solicitor with over 25 years' experience at top-tier Mayfair and City firms acting for domestic and international HNW clients on a myriad of complex, and often multi-faceted, residential and investment property transactions in London and the country, increasingly clients and their family offices turned to me to advise, negotiate and coordinate other elements of their property matters, such as assembling professional and creative teams for their renovation projects or managing their transactions.
I realised that clients were looking for, and I was providing, a private office for their property requirements and that it would be more beneficial - and cost-effective - for them if I answered this need by bringing my extensive legal and practical expertise and wealth of contacts together to create a specialistproperty-focussed company, so I did.
We help clients with their residential property matters, whether they already own a property or want to buy, sell, renovate or set up a household here, or have a property-related problem that they would like resolved.
Weknow that the English legal system is not straightforward, and transactions that involve life change, substantial investment or are complicated by multi-jurisdictional issues need careful planning, so we take time to listen to and explore the client's objectives and goals. We draw in additional expertise, where required, thereby providing the client with tailored advice and solutions, which, in turn, enables them to make informed decisions, reducing risk and saving them time and money.
Recent matters include securing an exchange of contracts on a purchase in 3 days; achieving a significant settlement in a property dispute; resolving a building mismanagement crisis; providing solutions to manage complex legal issues that came to light pre-sale; advising on proposed renovation projects; and creating comprehensive sales packs enabling the conveyancers to exchange contracts quickly.
I wanted to join a networking club true to the spirit of the trusted private client adviser, where I could develop existing relationships and build new ones: PCD offered this opportunity.
The New York dinner in May: I am excited about meeting the transatlantic PCD members.
On a yoga mat, stretching my body, or at a cultural event, stretching my mind!
