I am a Client Services and Tax Director in the Isle of Man office, heading up our Tax practice and a member of the Board. I started my career as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte before moving to KPMG to specialise in Tax, where I qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor. I joined Abacus in 2016, as a Tax Senior Manager and have since taken a wider client services role.
Variety! Being a CTA and ACA, I am involved in all aspects of our business and deal with different, often complex, client queries on a day to day basis. The interaction with clients and building close working relationships is a very rewarding role.
Outside of work, my biggest achievement was winning 3 gold medals in the inter-island games in 2013, in Bermuda.
I used to be a keen distance runner and overall competed in the Island Games from 2007 - 2015 winning a total of 11 medals. The Island Games is a biennial competition with a total of 27 Islands competing.
As a business we were able to adjust well and rely on our strong infrastructure of IT systems and processes, which allowed the Group to work effectively from home.
