Jessica Miller - Founder & Director, Strela Advisory, London. Jessica is the founder and director of Strela Advisory limited, a boutique investigations firm founded in 2017. Strela Advisory’s purpose is to provide goal-orientated, bespoke investigations and intelligence to resolve clients’ complex commercial and personal legal, reputational, and sometimes familial, problems.
The firm has three core practice areas: (i) asset tracing and recovery; (ii) dispute support; and (iii) private client, which focuses on using investigations to address and remedy more personal concerns for principals or their family offices, such as family disputes, asset protection, or reputational issues.
As a Russian-speaker, and spending considerable time in the CIS, Jessica has particular expertise in working with CIS clients, either still in the region or with a presence in the UK/Western Europe. She also works frequently with clients from the Middle East, particularly (U)HNWI from the GCC countries, and their advisors. During the course of her career, she has spent time working in London, Moscow, Dubai, and Italy.
Jessica has an MA Hons in Russian and Italian, and an M.Litt. in Middle East and Central Asian Security Studies (with Uzbek Language), both received from the University of St Andrews. Further to English and Russian, Jessica speaks Italian, Spanish and French. She is currently studying Arabic.
Oksana Yesina - Managing Director, Lombard Odier, London. Oksana is a Managing Director at Lombard Odier in London. She joined the bank in 2015 as a Senior Private Banker with responsibility to oversee CIS clients with specific focus on Russia, Kazakhstan and Israel. Oksana has over 20 years’ financial markets experience in the UK.
Prior to her role at Lombard Odier, she worked at Barclays Wealth where she focused on Ultra High Net Worth individuals providing holistic solutions to their wealth management. Oksana is a Chartered accountant qualified with PwC London. She spent a combined 7 years in Private Equity advisory and Asset management before becoming a private banker. She is a mother of two wonderful grown up children.
Adam Garwood - Director, Private Wealth, IQEQ, Jersey. Having spent over 30 years in the financial services industry, Adam has an impeccable track record in multi-jurisdictional client service. He works with ultra-high net worth families around the world to find the most secure financial structures.
Adam qualified with the Institute of Financial Services and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). During eleven years with Lazard, six years with Deloitte, and latterly independent fiduciary services companies Sanne and Seymour, he specialised in UK non-domicile clients, Asian, CIS, and Indian families.
Adam is a specialist in protective family office structures and dynastic planning and strongly believes in the value of long term relationships and goals within the wealth planning environment.
Since 2012 he has been recognised as a leading figure in the trust industry by Citywealth and included in the Trustee honours list. Adam was recently recognised by ‘Global Elite Recommends’ category within the directory, allowing lawyers to nominate their most highly-rated partners including accountants, asset managers, family offices and trustees.
Ainur Akhmetova - Head of Legal, Muratov Partners Law Firm LLP, Almaty, Kazakhstan. Ainur is a lawyer with more than 16 years of practical experience, with extensive practice in banking, financing, investment and corporate law. She has supported major investment projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of the EBRD, ADB and other international financial institutions. She has solid experience in Legal Due Diligence and Legal Writing. Ainur has participated in the creation of the AIFC and the writing of the AIFC Law, amended the Constitution, and supported many different projects.
Ainur participated in renewable energy sources companies M&A project, in the project of creation of the Islamic Bank in Kazakhstan - a second-tier bank; implemented a plan of shares purchase by the employees of a large oil company in Kazakhstan; prepared the Regulations on the National Sharia Council in Kazakhstan and took part in its creation; participated in the creation of the Astana International Financial Center. Ainur speaks Kazakh, Russian and English.
Elena Tsirlina - Solicitor, CDS Mayfair, London. Elena is a solicitor and head of the immigration and asylum department at Charles Douglas Solicitors LLP, specialising in immigration, nationality, asylum and human rights. She provides a bespoke service offering representation and advice in respect of complex immigration, nationality, asylum and human rights law matters and has a strong following with clients ranging from ultra-high net worth individuals and businesses wishing to establish themselves in the UK to those who face persecution, ill-treatment and risk to life and wish to avail themselves of protection available under international and domestic law in the UK.
She has more than 17 years’ experience in a variety of human rights, asylum, nationality and immigration cases, specifically those of an exceptional and high-profile nature. Her particular expertise lies in dealing with Russian-speaking clients from the Russian Federation and other post-Soviet states.
