Join us for a discussion on the latest trends from the world of Luxury Assets. The discussion will focus on issues HNW clients owning high value Art, Jewellery, Classic Cars and other more exotic investments that have become increasingly prevalent for private clients.

The discussion will be hosted on Zoom and include a live discussion with a distinguished panel, followed by small group discussions using Breakout Rooms to enhance the networking and discussion. This will allow our members to interact directly with each other and the panelists. A full guest list will be circulated to those that attend.

Pierre Valentin - Partner, Constantine Cannon LLP, London. Pierre co-founded the London office of Constantine Cannon in 2012 and is the partner in charge of their Art & Cultural Property Law Group practice (www.constantinecannon.com). He has spent the last 25 years advising art collectors and art businesses on the law, first as in-house counsel to Sotheby's and then as a partner of Withers LLP. Pierre's clients include art collectors, art galleries, art dealers, auction houses, artists, museums, private banks, family offices, insurance companies and art investment funds. About half of his clients are based in the UK and the rest of Europe, a quarter in the USA and the rest in the Middle East and Asia.

"He is the star name of the art world" Chambers and Partners UK: Solicitors, A Client's Guide, 2020 edition.

He represents clients in the High Court and the Court of Appeal in matters of ownership, valuation of art, fraud, authenticity, Nazi restitutions, and foreign nation recoveries. A firm believer in mediation, he supports clients through the mediation process. He has recently represented clients in LCIA arbitrations.

Pierre is praised by commentators as "one of the best exponents of art law in the business." "A veritable giant in the field, he introduced art law to the firm, and now oversees a team looking after art collectors, artists and galleries, museums and foundations.", says UK Spear's 500, the annual publication that recognises the top private client advisers, wealth managers, lawyers and service providers for HNW individuals.

Pierre founded PAIAM (Professional Advisors to the International Art Market) in 2011 (www.paiam.org). In 2019, he founded ICRA (International Catalogue Raisonné Association) and he chairs the Board (www.icra.art). For 20 years, Pierre was a trustee of the World Monuments Fund Britain and he chaired the Board for 3 years (www.wmf.org.uk). Pierre sits on the Advisory Board of the Court of Arbitration for Art in The Hague (www.cafa.world).

Nic Arnold - Private Client Director & Head of Luxury Asset Advisory, PwC, London. Nic is a Director in PwC's Private Office tax team and she specialises in working with high net worth families and their advisers to help them not only navigate today's complex tax and reporting world, but also proactively plan for the future protection and succession of their wealth. This includes family governance and supporting family offices with wealth preservation. She also heads up PwC's Luxury Asset team which provides specialised tax and consulting advice on owning, managing and acquiring Superyachts, Aircraft, Art and other high value assets.

James Haithwaite - Luxury Asset Specialist, Jersey and a global resource to the IQ-EQ Group. James joined IQ-EQ in 2017 and has over 28 years' experience in the trust and fiduciary industry, having worked in both bank owned and independent trust companies. Initially managing traditional fiduciary assets as part of a family office offerings, his role evolved into providing, uniquely from a fiduciary platform, expert independent services to collectors looking to acquire, maintain, restore, transport, exhibit their collectors cars as these vehicles became a separate asset class in their own right.

Located in Jersey, James now heads the collector car services sector within the IQ-EQ Family Office Services Offering as part of the Luxury Asset Team. James is a fully qualified chartered secretary and is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Rebecca Bettany - Director - JTC Private Office, Jersey. Rebecca joined JTC in 2018 with a mandate to oversee the launch of JTC Private Office. As Head of the UK & Channel Islands, Rebecca now focuses heavily on these regions as well as having an active involvement in JTC's wider service offering. Prior to this, Rebecca held a number of senior positions at prominent private client-oriented organisations in London, including as a Director at Clariden Leu and Relationship Manager for Lombard Odier. In both of these roles, her focus was on providing seamless service to a book of ultra-high net worth clients.

Most recently, Rebecca was co-founder of the London-based Pall Mall Family Office and PM Investment Services, which gained regulatory approval in the UK in August 2016. In 2019, Rebecca was awarded the prestigious 'Future Leader in Private Client' Award at the 12th Annual Spears Wealth Management Awards.

Charles Hamilton Stubber - Senior Vice President, Lockton, London. Charles is a Senior Vice President within the Lockton Private Client Practice and has over 35 years' industry experience from his previous senior roles in Private Client Risk Management for high & ultra-high net-worth individuals and families. He is principally involved in structuring, negotiating and providing new, innovative insurance propositions to family offices, individuals and the wealth management sector's clients.

He is responsible for supporting clients in reviewing and implementing insurance requirements for individuals and families including homes, overseas properties, fine art, jewellery and collectables and extends to other assets and liability exposures both personal and corporate based. In addition, Charles has developed a specialist family office protection policy for family offices to cover exposures such as professional indemnity, directors and officers, crime and cyber.
