Join us for the first episode in the Greater China Series, kindly sponsored by Barclays Private Bank. We are delighted to bring to you a discussion on the key trends and challenges for wealth transfer specific to HNW clients in the PRC. There is unprecedented wealth held by business owners in China that will pass down to their children over coming decades. Our discussion will focus on succession planning, generational issues, onshore & offshore structuring available and regulatory and governance challenges. We are delighted to be joined by our expert panel:

Richard Grasby - Founder of RDG Fiduciary Services Limited and Registered Foreign Lawyer at Facey & Associates LLP and based in Hong Kong since 2009. Richard is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales, the British Virgin Islands ("BVI") and the Cayman Islands. Richard has lived and worked in Jersey, the UK, the Cayman Islands and Hong Kong for some of the leading law firms including Maples, Ogier, SJ Berwin and Charles Russell Speechlys LLP. He is a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law, the International Bar Association, International Fiscal Association, Hong Kong Trustees Association, Family Firm Institute and STEP. For STEP he is a member of the Global Steering Committees for International Client and Business Families and a member of the Hong Kong branch committee.

Joyce Zhou - Director, Private Banker, Barclays Private Bank. Joyce joined Barclays in 2015 as a private banker, having spent close to 10 years in the Investment Bank at JP Morgan, UBS and CICC. Now at Barclays UK International Private Bank, Joyce has a focus on UHNW clients from the Far East and is the lead banker for the China Market. In addition to her IB credentials, Joyce's expertise covers International Tax Planning, Family Trust, Complex Credit Solutions, RND offshore structuring, and UK Investor Visas. Joyce currently resides in the UK having previously lived and worked in China, Australia, Singapore and is multilingual in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Joyce has Double Masters in Commerce and International Business from the University of Sydney, and is a CFA Charter holder.

Christine Wong - Managing Director, Head of Greater China, Private Wealth Solutions, HSBC Private Banking. Christine joined HSBC following her 25 years of experience in private client trust and wealth planning services and she has broad and extensive experience in respect to private client work covering international trust and fiduciary services for families in Asia Regions. Christine joins HSBC from Credit Suisse where she was Director of Trust and Estate Advisory team for Greater China market. She has also worked as senior wealth planner in various leading financial institutions, including JPMorgan, UBS and Edmond de Rothschild for more than 18 years, focused on developing wealth solutions for UHNW families in Asia. In addition to her extensive wealth planning experience in various financial institutions, Christine joined Asiaciti Trust group, an independent trust company in 2013 where she was Managing Director of the group's HK office, responsible for its entire business fiduciary management and trust operation. Christine graduated from University of Melbourne and she has been an Australian Certified Practicing Accountant since 1995. She spent her early career with Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in trust and estate tax planning for Hong Kong families.

Ruth Guo - Deputy Director of the Trust Fund and Family Office Department, Yingke Law Firm, Beijing. Ruth is also the Secretary of Yingke International Collaboration Committee. Having worked both in London and Beijing in the private client sector, Ruth joined Yingke Law Firm Global Headquarters in 2017. Ruth was working as a corporate lawyer in London before joining an Isle of Man based fiduciary company. Over the years, she has helped numerous High Net Worth Individuals in structuring their assets and arranged asset protection and succession plans. Ruth developed the philosophy of a one-stop service for Asian wealthy families, to bring in line both the client's family needs and business needs. Ruth pursued continued study at Harvard University on the Family Enterprise themed programme in 2015.
