Nicola Saccardo - Nicola is a partner of Maisto e Associati, an independent Italian law firm specialised in Italian tax law with offices in Milan, Rome and London. Nicola is admitted to the Italian Bar (and to the Italian Association of Chartered Accountants). His legal practice is focused on Italian tax law. His areas of expertise comprise international and EU tax law; taxation of trusts, estates and HNWIs; and estate planning. He is a member of the International Bar Association, a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law (as well as its Vice President for Europe and Chair of its Tax Committee), an international fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of STEP (as well as a member of the International Client Global SIG Steering Committee of STEP and of the EU Public Policy Committee of STEP). He leads the course of EU tax law at the Master of Laws (LL.M.) of the King's College London. He has written extensively about Italian tax law and is a frequent speaker at conferences.
Anna Steward - Head of Wealth Planning at Sequent in Geneva. Anna joined Sequent (formerly Rothschild Trust Group) in 2015 from the Geneva office of international law firm Charles Russell Speechlys LLP having previously worked at Withers LLP and Farrer & Co LLP in London. Anna has over 12 years' experience as a solicitor in private practice advising families and private individuals on international tax and succession planning, family governance and complex matters of private international law. Anna is also qualified as an English notary public and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Anna has lectured in English and Italian on issues relating to tax and succession planning and family governance and has published articles on the uses of family constitutions as well as developments on transparency. Anna studied history at the University of Bristol, obtained a graduate diploma in Law at the College of Law in London, a diploma in Notarial Practice from the University of Cambridge and is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. Anna is a native English speaker, fluent in French and Italian.
