We are delighted to bring you an expert panel to discuss the latest trends in investment, structuring, tax and wealth planning for HNW clients in the Middle East, North Africa & Turkey.  The panel will be held at the Park Hyatt Zurich.

The session will be moderated by:

Caroline Bennett-Akkaya (TEP) – Partner, 1291 Group, Geneva.  Caroline has been in the wealth structuring business for 25 years and for the last 12 years in Switzerland, having worked for bank-owned and independent trust companies before joining 1291 Group in their Geneva office in 2020.  The Middle East and Turkey have been her areas of focus since 2000 and she has worked with families in these regions on succession and estate planning using trusts, foundations and life insurance solutions.

Samy Reeb (TEP) - Managing Partner, 1291 Group, Geneva.  Samy has been in the Wealth Structuring industry for the last 15 years. He began his career as a tax advisor in some of the world’s largest law firms and big four before joining the tax departments of two global banks. Before joining the 1291 Group, he worked for nearly six years at a leading Swiss bank, as Executive Director (Wealth Planning department) in Zurich, Singapore and Hong Kong. As well as his experience with Asian and CIS families, he has also covered clients in the Middle East. He relocated from 1291 Hong Kong to establish the 1291 Geneva office in 2020.

Sandra Louw – Managing Director – Trident Trust, Zürich.  Sandra’s career advising high net worth individuals on the use of trusts and other corporate vehicles spans for more than 25 years. She is experienced in fiduciary and estate planning matters for HNW international and internationally mobile families and has worked for both bank and independent trust companies. Having worked in both New Zealand and Singapore, she relocated to Switzerland in 2009.

Lisa Cornwell Webb - Director, International Private Wealth, PwC Switzerland, Zürich.  Lisa is a Private Client Director with 18 years of experience.  Her clients are international private clients and family offices and the banks, wealth managers and trust companies working with them. She specialises in navigating complex issues and giving practical advice to her clients. Particular areas of focus are relocation, family succession and asset holding structures.

Nick Sloane - Senior Relationship Manager, SP Hinduja Banque Privée, Zürich.  Nick has nearly 25 years in investment and private banking in the UK, Germany and Switzerland, amongst others with Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse. He has deep experience of both the private and institutional worlds, of banks and family offices, and, coming from a diplomatic upbringing, is expert at building lasting, trusting relationships. The last 10 years have been focussed on collaborating with primarily Saudi Arabian clients on the optimal structuring and investment of their assets, in particular at the family level, involving spending significant time in the Kingdom. 

Nick has also been a commentator on CNBC, Bloomberg and Deutsche Welle.

Nick is a dual British/Australian national, speaks four languages, and has an honours degree from Bristol University. He is married with a young son, is a qualified ski instructor and examiner with the US National Ski Patrol, where he instructs on avalanche awareness and mountain travel and rescue. His wife, Alice, an artist, last year became the first Czech national to ever exhibit in Saudi Arabia.

New Covid policies and procedures:

Each guest will be asked to produce a Swiss COVID certificate as proof of a double vaccination (all EMA approved vaccines), recovery or as proof of a negative test result (either a negative PCR test within the last 72 hours or rapid antigen test taken within the previous 48 hours).  Please note that only the certificates of countries using the EU digital COVID certificate are compatible with the Swiss system - if you are coming from outside of the EU you will need to download the SwissCovid app which is available here.   

In addition:

Hand sanitiser will be available, which guests will be encouraged to use on arrival and throughout the event. All event spaces are sprayed with an electrostatic machine ahead of guest arrival and subject to enhanced disinfection cleaning.

Handshakes will be discouraged at the event and contact details will be made available virtually, avoiding the need to exchange business cards.
